There seems to be a paradigm shift in education whereby teaching at the elementary, high school and adult levels is getting harder, not easier. Despite the fact that teachers have never been more educated, technology has never been more advanced, curriculum has never been so refined and pedagogy has never been so honed; the role of the teacher is becoming increasingly difficult - How can this be? Perhaps the true problem in learning lies elsewhere – perhaps the problem lies in the diminishing teachability of our students. The gap between our students’ potential and their achievement seems to be widening. Therefore, teaching harder is not necessarily the answer; rather, enhancing teachability is.
This workshop will help provide consultants, principals and directors with new eyes to rethink traditional school organization. By having a better understanding of the ‘Science of emotion’, the ‘stages of maturation’ and the ‘power of attachment’ you can enhance the teachability of all students and optimize teaching and learning in your schools and centres.
